Volunteer with us in Chislehurst Rec.

Help make a difference in your Rec. Friends of Chislehurst Recreation Grounds is run by volunteers who care about protecting, improving and bringing our Recreation Ground to life for everyone to enjoy. Whether you have one hour a month or more time to give, there are lots of ways to get involved — and no previous experience is needed.

What To Expect

There’s no long-term commitment and no need to attend every activity. Our volunteers are friendly and welcoming, and we’ll help you find something that suits your interests and availability. Wear comfortable clothes and we’ll let you know if anything specific is needed

Ways You Can Volunteer

Events and Activities

Join our Gardening Group

Help us create small events and activities for local families and children. We’d love to do more — but we need more volunteers to make it happen.

One of the easiest and most enjoyable ways to get involved is through our friendly Gardening Club.

Meeting every Wednesday from 10am–12pm, the group helps care for planting areas across the Recreation Grounds while creating a welcoming space to chat, enjoy the outdoors and make a visible difference in the local community.

Whether you’re a keen gardener or simply fancy getting outside and meeting people, everyone is welcome.

Environment Group

No experience, tools or commitment needed — just come along and give it a try.

Duke of Edinburgh Volunteering

We welcome young volunteers completing their DofE volunteering section and provide opportunities to gain practical experience and contribute to the local community.

Help protect and improve the natural environment of the Recreation Grounds.

From biodiversity projects to practical conservation work, our Environment Group supports initiatives that help make the Rec a greener and more wildlife-friendly place for everyone to enjoy.
